LoadRunner Inconsistent Results
I'm getting inconsistent results when I run LoadRunner. I'm loading the same script and the only thing I'm changing is the number of users I start with. After I run a scenario I deliberately logoff and logon to the server. Using this methodology I found that I got 0 errors with 40 users, 100 errors and 40 failed transactions with 50 users and 315 errors and 181 failed transactions with 45 users. I ran the 45 users a second time and got 126 errors and 59 failed transactions. I would expect to get more errors and failed transactions with 50 users than with 45 users, but that's not the case.

Loadrunner unable to handle Oracle Access Manager SSO Authentication

I am testing a web application which uses Oracle Access manager SSO login, while recording the script from loadrunner. I have observer that LR is unable to handle the dynamic authenticated cookies generated which are required for login purpose.
has anyone observer this issue with LR?

HTML5 Item Data
I am recording a new app using VuGen 12.50 with the Web protocol. Some of the transactions are being recorded as web_custom_request instead of the web_submit. Some of the calls are rest and some are json and those are not an issue becasue there is not parameterization needed. The problem is the getData calls that are web_custom_requests. They contain items that are usually broken out into ITEMDATA and can be parameterized. The ones that are causing issues are RecContentType=application/xml and the items appear in the body and cannot be changed. I know I can use web_reg_param and convert what I need but there are lots of them and is really not feasiable. I have tried boatloads of different settings with no results. Any ideas?

"CCI compilation error" on Linux Load Generator
All,
I am trying to run a WEb HTTP/HTML script in a LR Controller (v 12.5) scenario that runs it on a Linux Load Generator. The vuser errors out with these two messages -
Error: CCI compilation error -/tmp/brr_G6GOHp/global_dir/21578919/pre_cci.c: /tmp/brr_G6GOHp/netdir/C/XXX_YYY/XXX_Yyyyyy_script/xslTransform.c:5: error: undeclared identifier `i_dataElementCount'.
Error: Vuser compilation failed. Please set CCIDebug to Off in CCI section of mdrv.dat file.
The script compiles and runs fine on VuGen, or on a Windows Load Generator. Does it mean we have to change mdrv.dat? What does it mean to set CCIDebug to Off?

My Web Http/Html script has to read a paramter .dat file from a Linux host, which is also the Load Generator for the test. What kind of file path should be used for the parameter file? Is this sufficient?
/folder/where/controller/has/access/p_paramFile.dat
I will try once I have completed the code. Just wanted to get a headstart on any issue I may face later.

Why does a TLS 1.2 call take 2 TCP/IP connections?
All, I have an HP VuGen client that is using 2 TCP/IP connections to do the TLS v1.2 handshake with my server when mutual authentication is enabled.
According to Wireshark, the sequence is approximately this:
- Client SYN
- TLS v1.2 client hello
- Server sends server hello, certificate, server key exchange, certificate request, server hello done
- Client FIN's the old connection
- Client SYN's a new connection
- Server handshake failure on the old connection (out of order packet)
- TLS v1.2 client hello
- Server hello, certificate, server key exchange, certificate request, server hello done
- (everything is ok after this)
Neither OpenSSL nor a standalone java client exhibits this same behavior. When the server asks for the client certificate the first time, they send it.
With VuGen, I can't see anything different about the two client hello message, nor the server responses. There are definitely two connections, though, because there are 2 FIN's from the client using 2 different outbound ports.
I would like to prevent this because I don't think our production clients do this (since neither OpenSSL nor a java app do it.)
FWIW, it doesn't matter whether I go through a load balancer or not. I get the same behavior.
I believe this has something to do with the server asking for the client certificate because the same server has another non-MA port open that is otherwise configured the same and the VuGen client only makes a single connection there.

Vugen 12.5 does not launch browser, fails to record traffic to URL that requires an SSL connection
I am trying to record a simple web htttp/html script to a webserver that requires an SSL (TLS 1.1) connection via port 443. I was able to do this just fine with Loadrunner 12.01 on this same system. However, when I upgraded to Vugen 12..5 (with no patches) the following actions occur I atttempt a recording to this URL. 1) Vugen window minimizes as is normal, 2) the small RECORDING window appears and the elapsed timer starts running and 3) after 60 seconds, Vugen posts a message stating that the application could not be recorded. Continuing the recording at this point does not provide any worthwhile information and so I chose the Cancel Recording option. However, if you look at the Recording outut, there is no log information that is provided. I was hoping for some information indicating some type of SSL Handshake failure but not log information was recorded.
Since I was able to record a script using this same URL with Loadrunner 12.01 within the last week, I am wondering what might be causing this issue and where I need to check in my Vugen configuration for what might be causing this problem. Note that if REPLAY a PREVIOUSLY RECORDED script (done by Vugen 12.01) using Vugen 12.50, the script replays WITHOUT any errors.
So this issue appears to be just a Vugen 12.5 recording and NOT a Vugen 12.5 replaying issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Vugen 12.5 generates exception when trying to correlate
In Vugen 12.5 (no patches), the following exception information is posted in a Vugen error window after clicking "Create Correlation" option within the HTTP Response window. In this case, the correlation was attempted using the REPLAY and not the RECORDING window that contains the HTTP response data. Note that if you IGNORE this error it does appear that Vugen 12.5 will create the requested correlation. However, it is a bit STRANGE to receive an error like that and still believe Vugen 12.5 is still acting in a reliable manner. If this error is ONLY a WARNING, then the message that Vugen posts should be approriately worded as such. This type of error notification gives the impression that the user should CLOSE VUGEN since it has experienced a SERIOUS INTERNAL error.

LoadRunner community 12.50 installation issue.
Hi
Whent I install LoadRunner eveything goes smoothly until I reach a screen prompting me for details of a certificate (screenshot attached). From the dialog box, I am guessing that the default is to create a certificate for me, but if I click next, I get an error saying "The path of the CA certificate file must be not empty". The buttons next to filename input fields, seem to be designed to select a certificate, rather than specify a directory. Either creating a name for a new certificate, or even pointing the installer at a certificate I have generated manually with ga_ca_cert.exe in the bin directory... doesn't seem to work.
I can complete the installation by unchecking the "Specify a certificate" checkbox... However once complete, I get a warning that there is no valid license.. I have followed articles here, that detail problems with LR.pd. I have copied over a new LR.pd file, from the setup folder and also from a post on this forum but that hasn't made any difference.
Anyone got any suggestions on what I am doing wrong here?

How to launch IE 11 - 32 bit from Vugen?
I am trying to use Vugen 12.5 to record a web application. This application uses 32 bit activex controls and must run under the 32 bit version of IE. When I launch the recorder it is always launching the 64 bit version. I have tried pointing it to the version in Programs Files (x86) but it still launches the 64 bit version. If I launch IE outside of the tool, the 32 bit version launches. Any ideas?

Enable Profiling option removed in runtime setting for True client
Hi, LR 12 had the "Enable profiling" option in run-time settings for TruClient protocol. This setting enabled to capture client side metrics during performance tests. I cannot find this option in LR 12.5. Please advice if this option has been moved to some other place or has been permanently removed. If removed, how can we measure the client side response breakdown now ?
