Please suggest how to record script for adf 11g web application with LR 12.02? What protocol and correlation rule should be used? What should be the exact recording option?
I have tried with ajax click and script protocol with GUI based recording mode and oracle correlation rule. Using this the application GUI gets scattered while recording.

I am trying to configure new server to monitor thier resources utilization during the performance execution, I have followed all the steps correctly and add the server, countries, and entering the administrator credentials. However after submiting the credentials I am getting the following error message:
Cannot connect to the machine [Server IP]
Reason: Cannot access HKEY_PERFORMANCE_DATA key on host [Server IP] with error
Access is denied.
My question: Is there a server agent I should install first before adding the server counters? What I am missing in the server side in order to complete the configuration?

We have several different test-environments when developing an enterprise site.
When running performance tests I usually go to each Loadgenerator and edit the local Host-file so that it will connect to the right target test environment.
This is a very timeconsuming and ineffective way, so I'm looking for a better way to have the loadtest scripts take care of this.
A hostfil might look something like this when I've edited it for a testenvironment:
192.168.0.50 www.xyz.com ex2.xyz.com
192.168.0.51 ex3.xyz.com
192.168.0.52 ex3.xyz.com
In StormRunner there's a solution to override the host-file with a file called hosts.add that you add to the scripts zip-file before uploading to Stormrunner.

I have recorded a test script on a TruClient for a web system using Ajax. The test script itself works fine. With TransactionEditor I have set start and end points for measuring time on several tranactions.
One transaction is clicking on a button and waiting for a second browser window to open and load content. I used Action Complete as Start Transaction (so after clicking the button has been performed) and DOM Content Loaded as End Event (as all content needed is loaded). This works fine and times measured for this in replay mode are fine.
The web application itself uses Ajax. And this is where I'm running into problems measuring realistic times (compared to manual stopped times; e.g. I try to measure time from clicking a button to open u a modal window --> manual stopped time 8 sec, TruClient 0,2 sec).
I think TruClient is running into problems because of Ajax. In my test script I have recorded a step Click Button, on click a modal window opens, next step would be some action in the modal window. I neither want the time it takes clicking the button nor the time from clicking the button to performing the next step. Is there any possibility measuring the time it takes until the modal window has popped up and content is fully loaded? Maybe by setting the trigger on the specific modal window object? Same problem appears when clicking on a button which affects a new page to load.
I do know the definitions of the start and end points of the transaction editor and tried different start and end points for measuring, but I'm not getting realistic values for time measuring - either very small values (e.g. 0,2 seconds etc.) or I'm running into a timeout (e.g. using Document Loaded as end point).
Can anyone help why I'm not getting realistic results and how I would be able to trigger Ajax events using the Transaction Editor?

Does anyone have any experience with using Jenkins to kick off a TruClient test?
We currently use Jenkins to kick off a UFT test on a host and I would like to do the same thing with a TruClient script.
So I'm trying to record a Truclient script that verifes that a Word doc was opened and then that a PDF Doc was opened. Inside my application it links to a Word doc and then in another step it links to a PDF doc. The issue I'm having is that Truclinet doesn't seem to reconize the word or PDF Doc. I use Truclient for multiple browser windows without issue but this Word/PDF issue got my stumped.
Any suggestions?

Today I have been working for having a database of one of the results collected from one test we launched “imported” into my SQL SERVER 2008 Express R2 software. Which is the last version of SQL Server that can I install and LoadRunner Analysis supports?
So, first of all I have installed SQL SERVER 2008 Express R2. Once it has been installed, I have edit the analysis Database options like in the picture named 01_Analysis_Database_Configuration.
In this step I have the error of the pictures 02_1_Warning_Test_Parameters and 02_2_Warning_Test_Parameters
What I have to do to resolve this warning?

Now I wanted to import all actions as single scripts with code generation log. I tried that but couldn't see the code generation for each action. Please help me.

i'm using vugen 12.02. using winsock protocol, i successfully recorded a browser-based application and its communications. however, any socket communications that were done using HTTPS port 443 were not recorded; only HTTP and other communications.
is there a limitation with winsock and HTTPS in this regard? if not, what needs to be done to get this to work?
(note that i have the winsock protocol interceptor certificate installed in the root store; i don't think it has anything to do with this problem, but i mention it just in case someone wondered about it.)
Should I be able to see Citrix GUI on a load generator when executing a test in LoadRunner or Performance Center?
I have created Citrix script.
I can see Citrix GUI when executing this script in VuGen.
I am executing the same script in LoadRunner or Performance Center.
I opened an RDP connection to a load generator that is used by this test run.
I see load runner agent icon on a tak bar.
When executing this test I see a "Banner" notification icon "Serving ..."
So it looks like thi stest is running OK.
Is it possible to see Citrix GUI on this load generator during test execution?

When I try and run my scenario on an injector, I get issued with the error "Error: The user files were not transferred to the local load generator" and all the users get thrown straight out.
My scenario will run OK if I use localhost as my injector... Think it doesn't like recursive dirs. Reason why I'm using them is because I want to be able to pick up my LR tests assets from the top level dir; move them to another sever or folder; and have everything work as it should.
So physically, my script is here:
Z:\LoadRunner\Scripts\My Script
Data is here:
Z:\LoadRunner\CommonData\environment.dat
So, in my loadRunner script, I'm pointing to environment.dat as:
\..\..\..\common_data\environment.dat
So for some reason, I can only get this to work if I hardcode a path for the data file; or use the recursive directory limited to localhost as my injector.
Am using LoadRunner 12.02

Dear All,
We have recorded a Citrix Xen App with multiple protocols, web http/html and citrix ICA protocols. We tweaked the script to save .ica file with different names (like for Vuser1, 1launch.ica, 2.launch.ica) in H:/Temp folder.
the script runs very well with unique user id's but when the same userId is used multiple times, the existing session is getiing killed and only one session/ user is running.
Manually, we were able to login to Webinterface with same user in many browsers and are able to invoke citrix application multiple times with same users.
When the script is runningfrom controller, we are able to see different .ica files created for each user in H:Temp folder with similar properties of manual .ica files. Still, it is not allowing more that one user with same Credentials.
Also, we are seeing two files being created for each user 1launchSAPID.ica.vuser.modified, 1launchSAPID.ica. why are two files being created?
Attaching one .ica file generated in H:Temp when script was run from controller.
Our code is below for handling ica files . We capture .ica parameters in to Full and append [Encoding] to it and invoke it,.
I have attached the file that has the code to generate .ica files.

I want to know if there is any document that explains technically how LoadRunner executes multiple Vusers per thread, for example, if I have one machine with one processor/2 cores/2 threads, how the tool manages the concurrency (real one) if I want to run 4 Vusers in that machine?
I know that VUGEN has a config where i can choose if I want to run as thread or process, I know the difference, I also know that uses flags to controll the threads, however, is it real concurrecy?

I have been working on a web application and use LoadRunner to load test the application. Often when there are changes made to the application and patch deployed, we usually have a scenario of re-scripting the same business flows since the previous scripts fail due to certain failures (If possible we tweak the same scripts). This leads to new effort estimations and delay in delivery timelines. I just wanted to know if there is any approach ( less dependent on HTTP layer to record the requests ) to make the VUGen scripts robust and less susceptible to applicationpatch deployments (considering Web applications for now).

I am using Loadrunner 12.50 with TruClient to record a script by clicking on some webpage. However, the firefox version used within the TruClient client is too old. The GUI is not shown correctly. Looking at the same GUI with a normal, up-to-date firefox browser works very good. All the items and boxes etc. are shown correctly.
How can I change the version of firefox that is used within TrueClient of Loadrunner 12.50?
